“I am convinced that green tourism and multifunctional agriculture are important to rethink internal areas and reverse the trend towards abandonment that has made entire portions of our territory more fragile.
Those areas for decades have largely represented the agricultural heart of our country, and today they challenge us: to rethink them with a view to taking care of the places, protecting the landscape, new agriculture, new economy. For this to happen, they must become central to the future strategy that we give ourselves as a country-system, and they can also be an important bet for female employment and the new generations. Turismo Verde_Cia did well to put them today at the center of the National Assembly which has chosen to give itself as its theme the relaunch of inland areas, green tourism, multifunctional agriculture ”.
Thus Minister Teresa Bellanova on the occasion of the annual assembly of Green Tourism, the agritourism association of Cia-Agricoltori Italiani, which gathers about 4 thousand 500 agritourisms spread throughout the national territory.
"It is no coincidence", continues Bellanova, "precisely the inland areas theme is significantly present in our National Strategy for the Agricultural, Agri-food, Forestry, Fisheries and Aquaculture System and takes on the resilience and vitality of rural areas , for a work shared with other Ministries on the specifics of rural villages and on broadband in all areas including those with market failure. Sustainability, environmental protection, landscape and biodiversity protection, local culture can all be the founding elements of a future project in which the agricultural sector and the food chain can and must play a decisive role. Improving the life of communities and guaranteeing a future for the new generations also passes from here ”, concluded Teresa Bellanova.
