#NoiSiamoLeScuole this week talks about three Abruzzo institutions

Cutting-edge laboratories, such as Mod or MabArt, in which to prepare for the rapidly changing world; the art of ceramics between past and future; an “all-round school” where you can spend the whole day studying, eating together, playing sports or reading.

On the channels of the #NoiSiamoLeScuole project of the Ministry of Education and Merit this week two professional institutes and a new school built with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) are being told

The IIS "Ovidio" of Sulmona, in the province of L'Aquila, is a high school pole with three pathways: the "Mazara" artistic high school, the "Ovidio" classical high school and the "Giambattista Vico" high school which is divided into three addresses: the human sciences high school, the social economic high school and the linguistic high school. A vast educational offer, therefore, enhanced through "very lively planning", also supported by the use of European funds, as told by the Headmaster, Caterina Fantauzzi. The Pon has made it possible to work on basic skills and citizenship, through art, music, theater workshops, for the education of legality and memory. With the new funds, the aim is now to increase experience and equipment.

"With the PNRR - explains DS - we want to continue working in this perspective, to give students ever greater opportunities", in particular with reference to digital skills, to keep pace with a rapidly changing world. Like the MOD (Mountain of Data) laboratory, which provides for a two-year innovative training course to raise awareness of the conscious use of data as a tool to promote sustainable, social, economic and environmental development; or the MabArt, a collective and participatory mapping laboratory of places through sensitivity, intelligence and culture, based on a methodology that was born in the context of international outdoor training experiences for the development of emotional intelligence through education to beauty and practices innovative teaching (storytelling, problem solving, networking, planning).

At the foot of the Gran Sasso, in the Municipality of Castelli, in the province of Teramo, we find a small mountain high school, the "Francesco Antonio Grue" artistic high school, which works above all to renew the ancient and prestigious tradition of ceramic manufacturing in the area, through the contamination of a conventional teaching with a more innovative one. Inserted in a context of prestigious artisan productions, this school looks to the future through workshops and laboratories that allow students to develop an artistic sensibility, discover their own inclinations and experiment with digital design.

"The heritage of Castelli is the subject of study - Eleonora Magno, Headmaster explains in the video - but no less important is the research and practical experimentation that is carried out inside the laboratories to interpret this tradition in a creative way". Thanks to Fondi Pon-FSE - with a process that will also be continued thanks to the PNRR - it has been possible to equip the classrooms with the necessary equipment to prepare for the challenges of the future, combat early school leaving, renovate environments and guarantee an "important innovative curriculum" , as the Director adds.

The high school also houses international works of art, such as the monumental nativity scene, with 54 life-size statues. The "Adopt a work" project was also conceived, a workshop created by the youngsters that combines the study of works and creative work. With the measures dedicated to innovative learning environments and laboratories for the digital skills of the future of the PNRR, it will be possible to create a virtual tour of the exhibition and the online viewing of the exhibited works.

In Montesilvano, in the province of Pescara, thanks to the PNRR, the spaces of the Istituto Comprensivo Statale "Troiano Delfico", one of the new schools that are being built thanks to the specific investment line of the Plan, will be completely renovated. "We are happy to have managed to win this tender - says the deputy mayor, Paolo Cilli - and to be able to intervene on a central school, which today is unable to accommodate all the students who would like to attend it".

The expectation is, therefore, entirely concentrated on the increase and adaptation of the renovated spaces. "All the activities that we have decided to carry on - explains the Headmaster, Vincenza Medina - need these additional spaces". Especially since the teaching of the school has always focused on cooperative learning, which requires adequate logistics for group work. A teacher also adds that the laboratory classrooms in the new building will have to facilitate this type of path. The needs of the kids, then, change over time, with the afternoon and extra-curricular activities that are now carried out out of necessity outside the school. Finally, however, the school will also have a large canteen, an auditorium, a library, a gym, that is, "an all-round school", concludes the deputy mayor.
