In the early hours of today's morning, the Novara State Police executed 4 pre-trial detention orders against as many people, all residing in Novara, suspected of being responsible for the violent home robbery, perpetrated in Novara on the evening of 4 November 2021, to the detriment of an elderly woman.

These are two adults, aged 20 and 21, for whom the precautionary measure was ordered in prison, and for 2 minors, for whom the GIP of the Turin Juvenile Court ordered a precautionary measure in prison and a obligation to stay at home.

The operations were conducted by the agents of the 3rd Section of the Novara Mobile Squad who, after close investigations coordinated by the Novara Public Prosecutor's Office and the Turin Public Prosecutor's Office for Minors and lasted about four months, also characterized by the help of technological safeguards, have acquired decisive evidence against the four suspects.

Faced with the resistance opposed by the woman in revealing the place where she kept her jewels, the two subjects continued to hit her with kicks and punches. The attack lasted about twenty minutes until the victim, now exhausted and frightened, succumbed to the aggressors' requests, revealing where all the valuables were hidden, the value of which was around 200 thousand euros.

Before fleeing the young people, to prevent the victim from giving the alarm, they took care to remove the woman's mobile phone and wrap her face entirely with adhesive tape, putting her life at serious risk.

Fortunately, the elderly victim, with no small effort, managed to free himself and reach the home of a neighbor, giving the alarm for an immediate intervention by the State Police and medical personnel.

The investigations, carried out on a wide-ranging basis, were based on the woman's statements, on the analysis of the numerous images recorded by public and private video surveillance systems located within a radius of two kilometers from the victim's home and on the assessment of the positions of all those who they had frequented the latter and knew its habits.

The intuition of the investigators had a first confirmation when a craftsman was identified who had carried out work inside the home of the injured party and who, on some occasions, had made use of the help of his own son, already prejudiced for robbery.

A second confirmation came from the accurate surveys carried out by the Novara Scientific Police inside the apartment, which highlighted the presence of a fingerprint belonging to a minor with numerous police records, closely linked to the son of the aforementioned craftsman. and that he had certainly never visited the victim's home.

Starting from these data, all the presumed members of the group were identified and the role they played both in the planning phase and in the perpetration of the crime.

In particular, the two underage suspects were identified as the material perpetrators of the robbery, the son of the craftsman, knowing well the standard of living and the habits of the victim, as well as the methods of accessing the house, played the role of "basista ", While the fourth young man had the role of" stake ", remaining outside the house to update or alert his associates about possible dangers.

The proceeding judicial authorities, sharing the investigative hypotheses, issued the measures listed above.

Finally, during the investigation, a 19-year-old from Novara, identified as one of the fences of the valuables stolen during the robbery, was deported to a state of freedom.
