Eye to the sender: fake Inps e-mails to scam users

In the last few days there have been several reports on the network relating to alleged e-mails sent by the Institute. Behind the promise of an economic reimbursement or upon notification of a non-payment of contributions, the sender requests an update of the bank details or an immediate transfer to avoid penalties. This is an attempted online scam, with the use of the INPS logo and with a language aimed at deceiving the recipient of the message.

Please note that INPS does not send such communications via email and that the Institute does not send attachments in “.exe” format, nor links in the body of its communications.

In this sense, it is recommended to use the usual prudence and, therefore, to:

  • do not click on any external links contained in e-mails or sms presumably transmitted by INPS;
  • do not download attached files in “.exe” format;
  • always check the sender of the communication;
  • consult, on the INPS website, the vademecum "Beware of scams", periodically updated with the latest reports received;
  • inform, in case of further doubts, our contact center (803.164 from landline, 06.164.164 from mobile) or the official social profiles of the Institute for further verification.
