Today Minister Patrizio Bianchi at the celebrations for the Republic Day

This morning the Minister of Education Patrizio Bianchi will be present in Rome at the celebrations for the Republic Day, at the Altare della Patria. 

"Today we celebrate the birth of our Republic - declares Minister Patrizio Bianchi -, a date strongly linked to the mission of the school, which is a defense of democracy, rights, sharing of the values ​​and principles of our Constitution". 

"On June 2, the path of the 'sacred way' of our Republic ends, which began on April 25 and continued on May 1 - concludes the Minister -. Three fundamental dates, summarized in the first article of our Constitution, which the school keeps and transmits to the citizens of tomorrow". 

Minister Bianchi will participate in the celebrations this morning together with a delegation of female students and the winners of the contest “The Unknown Soldier: Homeland and Memory”. On the occasion of the ceremony, the students will deliver the winning designs to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. The initiative, aimed at schools of all grades, proposed the creation of a graphic elaborate to remember the figure of the Unknown Soldier, on the occasion of the centenary of the transfer to the Altare della Patria, with the aim of raising awareness among young people on the theme of historical memory. 

This afternoon, then, at the Chamber of Deputies, the winning schools of the competition “From parliamentary classrooms to school classrooms. Constitution Lessons ". An initiative carried out in collaboration by the Senate of the Republic, the Chamber of Deputies and the Ministry of Education to involve female students, together with their teachers, in a path of knowledge and study of our Constitutional Charter.
