The Turin State Police arrested 16 individuals belonging to two distinct criminal organizations devoted to usury and extortion.
The members of the first, responsible for the crimes of criminal association aimed at usury, fraud, aggravated fraud for the achievement of public funds, embezzlement to the detriment of the State, the abusive exercise of financial activity, the fictitious registration of goods, to recycling. The precautionary measure refers to the activity called "Criminal Consulting".
The subjects belonging to the second criminal organization, local reference of the `ndgrangheta, were engaged in usury, extortion, money laundering, fictitious registration of financial activities with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia method. The precautionary measure derives from the activity called "Iron Fist".
From the investigative activity a third line of investigation emerged, deriving from the loans at the usurious rate bestowed by a pluri-prejudiced currently absent, in collaboration with some of his close relatives, as well as with the help of the wives of some apical exponents of the Calabrian clan of CREA originating from Stilo (RC).
The policemen found serious signs of guilt against numerous people, under various suspects for the crimes of fraud, usury, extortion, fictitious heading of goods, corruption and proceeded to a preventive seizure of money, goods and other utilities, of the which suspects have availability directly and through a third party, up to the value of approximately 3 million.
At present, 30 is the offending parties of the crime of usury and abusive credit.
