Operation "Train gang" vanquished a gang of young robbers who operated on board the train

Following a complex and detailed investigation, the agents of the Judicial Police Squad of the Railway Police Department for Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta managed to identify ten members of a gang responsible for various robberies committed on board of regional trains on the Turin - Savona line.

The modus operandi of the criminal group was always the same: the young victims were surrounded while they were sitting in the carriage and were threatened with knives, metal pipes or sticks, forcing them to give up their values, such as money, jewelry and on one occasion even heads of clothing just before purchased.

The violence of the group in some cases was not limited to verbal threats, in fact the victims were pushed and forced to remain seated during the robberies.

The complex investigations, also carried out through the precious use of social networks, made it possible to identify all ten members of the gang, made up of 8 Maghrebi and two Italians, of which 3 minors.

The identity of the perpetrators was also ascertained thanks to the analysis of the images of the video surveillance systems present on board the trains and in the railway stations, where the cameras recorded the members of the gang during the phases of the robberies and while they fled after committing the done.

At the end of the investigation, six precautionary measures were carried out, of which 4 were held in prison, while the others were reported in a state of freedom.

Subsequent house searches at the residences of the suspects made it possible to acquire important evidence, including the clothing worn during the events and a toy gun without a red cap.

Under investigation by investigators, other robberies on the same railway section, again against young boys, carried out last summer.
