Power: a mafia-type criminal association disjointed by the State Police
From the early hours of this night a vast operation of the State Police has been underway, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Potenza, to disrupt a criminal association of a mafia-type rooted in the municipality of Pignola (in the province of Potenza). however, whose members are also located outside the Basilicata Region.
Overall, 17 personal precautionary orders are being carried out, 2 preventive seizure orders of the shares and the business complex of two companies, one of which manages the bar inside the Palazzo di Giustizia in the Lucanian capital.
In addition, various searches are being carried out with the help of canine units.
To carry out the arrest, search and seizure activities, the Central Operational Service of the State Police has ordered the dispatch to Potenza of crews from the Matera, Avellino, Cosenza and Salerno Mobile Teams who, with the help of Team personnel Mobile of Naples, Bologna and Ascoli Piceno, will proceed with the judicial police activities also in Campania, Lazio and Emilia Romagna.
In total, about 150 agents are employed among the staff of the Potenza Police Headquarters, the Basilicata, Puglia, Campania and Calabria Crime Prevention Departments as well as specialized operators of the Scientific Police Interregional Cabinet Puglia-Basilicata.
The details of the operation will be disclosed during a press conference to be held at 11.00 at the Public Prosecutor's Office in the presence of the District Attorney Francesco Curcio.
