Reduce the gender gap towards companies with a high social innovation

(To Simona Grossi Blue Holding Spa) As has now been ascertained by every sector study, the economic rebirth created by the entrepreneurial network of our country must necessarily pass through an internal implementation of social innovation and its management mechanisms within the organizations. By adopting so-called public policies mission-oriented innovation, institutional actors are able to encompass the most innovative capacities of the economic system to solve important social problems and, at the same time, restart growth.

Unfortunately, the gender gap with regard to innovative contributions in the business world is still too high, and this makes economic regrowth still too lame to make a real change of pace.

According to World Intellectual Property Organizationin fact, the share of innovation patent applications with at least one woman among the inventors increased from 21 to 30% between 2002 and 2016. It is therefore expected that the cancellation of the gender gapit will be around the 2080[1], a time frame in my opinion too long.

The fact that Italy has such a low percentage of female businesses contributing to innovation is not only a serious social injustice but also a huge waste of creative capital, and closing this gap should therefore be a priority for all. inside the political agenda.

It is necessary to cancel the occupational prejudice that causes some sectors (not by chance the most developed in Italy) to be a purely male prerogative while others, who instead see a greater female participation, are not sufficiently valued and continue to be considered secondary optic of capital enhancement.

It would also be extremely useful to prefer less hierarchical and more horizontal collaborative structures, starting from schools and university laboratories, in order to revolutionize the now worn management processes which then, projected onto the entrepreneurial field, often lead to a company vision that is now decontextualized. and no longer performative.

"Women, regardless of the type of work they do, whether employed or self-employed, must be able to rely on the same rights and protections in the event of maternity or sickness. Unfortunately, there are still pockets of prejudice against women's work"Said Gisella Ferri, president of the Provincial Committee for Female Entrepreneurship of the Chamber of Commerce, and then added that"it is necessary to make the difference by creating an economic and social perspective which is the basis for the future of the next entrepreneurial levers. It costs fatigue and sacrifices but it is not impossible to carry on with your professional project and reconcile times of life and work. To aspiring entrepreneurs I say I always look forward"[2].
