The woman at the center of the new business model: some considerations in favor of a socio-economic rebirth

(Simona Grossi - member of the board of directors of Blue Holding Spa) We are witnessing a gradual affirmation of a business model increasingly focused on soft skills, on those typical female characteristics that require greater flexibility, adaptability, attention to communication , attitude to the management of interpersonal relationships, a more refined care of HR, as well as the sensitivity for customer satisfaction.

Already in the 2002 a research carried out by Songini and Dobini showed how in the enterprises managed by women the succession is more planned, there are fewer conflicts and there is a management with collective and participatory decisional processes [1].

And I'm making an economic and productivity talk about it even before it is a political question of equal rights. It is in fact shown by the data that where there are women at the top of the business, an average of about 3-3,5% more turnover is recorded compared to the male guide.

A data that makes you think and that highlights the relational ability of women, the ability to manage personnel and to lead a company as a family, as well as the propensity for horizontality, the co-creation of skills and successes, in line with a more marked inclination to listen and to collaborate.

An example can be provided by the German parliamentary framework, where a synergistic action between the parties, inaugurated in 1986 by the Greens and followed by the SPD first, by the CDU and then by the FDP, led to forms of organizational and social self-regulation [2]. The foundations for gender equality were laid within the governing bodies and therefore in subsequent candidacies, producing in the country the effect of making female leadership completely natural. All the female potentials have thus emerged, also helped by social measures, from family support to work, leading the country to unexpected results in terms of socio-economic growth.

A possible model, therefore, able to generate a series of positive aspects that would lead everyone to an improvement in style and quality of life.

“Women are ceasing to recognize themselves in an all-encompassing career model, sclerotic at work. And they are developing a new idea of ​​success and leadership that goes beyond the simple hierarchical expression: being a leader thus becomes a broader life plan, which broadens its objectives, strongly including the human and value dimension.
