Pakistan: water shortages and children die of measles

Hazoor Bux Eat is a journalist from Pakistan who from the District of Kanhkot he periodically informs our editorial staff on the conditions of the population in his country. Days ago he told us that his city of 400 people suffers from a lack of drinking water. Day after day people are getting sick from the lack of one of the main human rights, to have enough food and water to live. Among the various diseases that are recorded, the most serious and which is causing deaths especially among children is the measles. Five children died the other day, adding to the other 33 deaths during the month. Nadir Mirani was six, Fatima was two, Rano and Tangwani were four.

Among the various problems there are also the shortcomings on the part of health facilities due to scarce funding. Doctors and nurses are unable to reach all areas of the country where there are the most serious cases to be treated. It is shocking to think that in one part of the world one can still die of measles, or that there is no water running out of taps.

PRP Channel has decided to help the Pakistani population of these provinces by giving voice to their problems on an international channel.
