Payment of PA debts: Mef and Cdp sign agreement for advances of liquidity in favor of local authorities, regions and autonomous provinces

The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti have signed the agreement provided for in article 115 of Legislative Decree no. 34/2020 (the so-called Relaunch Decree) for the payment of the certain, liquid and payable debts of local authorities, regions and autonomous provinces, accrued as of 31 December 2019, relating to administration, supplies, contracts and obligations for professional services. The "Standard contracts" for the granting of the related advances of liquidity in favor of the Bodies were also approved.

The requests for advances, which will last up to a maximum of thirty years and will be settled at a fixed rate of 1,226%, must reach Cassa Depositi e Prestiti in the period between 15 June and 7 July 2020.

The measure joins the additional government initiatives launched to respond to the needs of the territories, in the current context of the health crisis. Companies and other creditors of the PA will benefit from the acceleration of the payment of the debts of the local authorities, which will thus be able to obtain a significant amount of resources (€ 12 billion): € 8 billion will be used to pay the commercial debts of the local authorities. , the Regions and the Autonomous Provinces and the remaining 4 billion will be used for the debts of the bodies of the national health service. Cassa Depositi e Prestitic will notify the beneficiary of the advance payment by 24 July 2020.
