4 searches carried out by the State Police against gravitating subjects in the circles of the supremacist radical right
The Bologna State Police carried out 4 searches delegated by the Public Prosecutor's Office against as many subjects residing in Bologna and Modena, aged between 53 and 19, under investigation, in competition with each other, for the crime of propaganda and incitement to commit a crime on grounds of racial, ethnic and religious discrimination.
The searches were carried out as part of an operation conducted in the circles of the supremacist radical right, by the policemen of the Digos of Bologna, together with personnel of the Postal and Communications Police Department of Emilia Romagna.
The investigation activity, coordinated by the Bologna Public Prosecutor's Office, by the Service for the Contrast of Extremism and Internal Terrorism of the Central Directorate of the Prevention Police of the State Police, ascertained that the suspects had formed an association whose purpose was the '' incitement to discrimination and violence on racial, ethnic, national and religious grounds. Through the use of chat rooms in the most well-known internet messaging platforms, they propagated ideas based on superiority and racial and ethnic hatred, instigating them to commit acts of discrimination, even with apology for the Shoah and crimes of genocide.
The suspects had already highlighted themselves as active in some supremacist chats that emerged in the recent investigation of the DIGOS and the Genoa Public Prosecutor's Office which had led, last January 22, to the arrest of a Savonese, accused of having "propagated ideas based on superiority and racial hatred and instigated to commit acts of violence for racial and religious reasons, as well as to have promoted and directed an association whose aims are the carrying out of acts of violence with the purpose of terrorism and incitement discrimination and violence for racial and religious reasons ".
As part of that activity, the policemen had also carried out a search of a young student enrolled at the University of Bologna.
During the operation, among other things, a large number of IT material deemed of interest was acquired and is being examined by the investigators.
The suspects are all members of an association of historical re-enactment of the militias of Nazi Germany.
