PNRR justice, the digital transition department is born

A new department is born at the Ministry of Justice, the one for the digital transition, statistical analysis and cohesion policies.

Yesterday's Council of Ministers approved the Dpcm scheme (decree of the President of the Council of Ministers), which establishes - without further financial burdens - the fifth Department within the Ministry of Justice, as part of the reorganization program of the Public Administration foreseen by the Pnrr.

The Department of Digital Transition, Statistical Analysis and Cohesion Policies will operate through three Directorates-General:

  • Directorate General for Automated Information Systems
  • Directorate-General for Statistics and Organizational Analysis
  • Directorate General for the Coordination of Cohesion Policies.

It is added to the four existing Departments: Department for Justice Affairs; Department of Judicial Organization, Personnel and Services; Department of Penitentiary Administration; Department of Juvenile and Community Justice.

The constitution of the new department is strategic with respect to the objectives of the NRP.

It will also provide support to the new technical-scientific committee for monitoring the efficiency of the civil trial, which has been set up and which will work alongside the similar committee relating to the criminal trial.
