Pordenone: dismantled criminal group specialized in immigration

The Pordenone state police dismantle a transnational criminal group made up of foreign citizens specialized in immigration of African citizens, after falsifying documents: 4 suspects, 1 arrested

An extensive operation by the Pordenone State Police has been underway since the early hours of the morning, which is carrying out arrests and searches, against members of a transnational criminal group involved in the illegal introduction of African citizens, after falsifying documents.

The Pordenone Flying Squad survey involved the local Ghanaian community, identifying a person of this nationality, able to bring African citizens to Italy and European Union countries by preparing false documentation, from visas to passports, to to ensure its illegal entry, subject to payment of large sums of money.

A well-structured and articulated partnership has therefore been outlined, operating for at least two years and managed by a Ghanaian regularly residing in Pordenone, a contact person for his community, able to bring compatriots without the entry requirements from the African continent by materially falsifying the documents of travel, with a rate of € 6.000 excluding air travel expenses, illegal payments made through international transfer-money circuits, self-recycled sums in Ghana through real estate investments.

In fact, from the investigative context there was a real trafficking of persons on the Accra-Istanbul - Bologna route, but also Paris or Amsterdam as well as airports located in other countries of the European Union.

The positive investigative results have therefore determined the prosecutor PM to request and obtain from the GIP the order for precautionary custody in prison in relation to the crimes pursuant to art. 12 paragraph 1,3 letter. D) 3 ter letter b) Legislative Decree 286/98 and 110 of the Italian Criminal Code (aiding and abetting illegal immigration in competition) against the head of the group, a 30 year old Ghanaian resident in the province of Pordenone, a worker in a company that produces furniture. Another 4 Ghanaians are under investigation, with regard to the same charges, and the owner of a former travel agency was subjected to a house search always ordered by the Public Prosecutor of Pordenone, holder of the investigation.

The details of the operation will be announced during a press conference to be held at 10,30 in the Pordenone Police Headquarters.
