The Abi Prize for Innovation, at the Prize of Prizes

The banks selected among the winners of the latest edition of the 2018 Innovation Banking Services Abi Prize are taking part today in the awards ceremony, in the presence of the President of the Senate Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati and the President of the Cotec Luigi Nicolais Foundation . The Recognition, established by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Cotec Foundation, is awarded annually to the best innovation projects in the banking, industry, services, university, public administration and service sectors.

Here are the winners of this edition, selected among the winners of the ABI Award for Innovation in Banking Services 2018:

  • the project "Virtual CFO - Solution to support SMEs in the day-by-day in analyzing financial needs and forecasting liquidity tensions", presented by Artigiancassa Gruppo BNP Paribas, for having introduced a solution that collects, processes and analyzes accounting and balance sheet data, simplifying the management of the company's financial flows
  • the "Academy of ideas" project, presented by the Cooperative Credit Romagnolo BCC of Cesena and Gatteo, for bringing the world of young people closer to the banking sector, encouraging the launch of new entrepreneurial initiatives on the territory by dynamic subjects and offering support in different stages of business development, in a space designed to create networking, collaborate and compare.
  • the project: "Orange Business Loan", presented by ING BANK, for introducing an innovative solution, to offer customers an instant loan with a unique customer experience thanks to a simple, fast and totally paperless request process.
  • the "UBI Welfare" project presented by UBI BANCA, for having proposed an innovative tool that offers clients complete assistance along the entire path of designing and implementing welfare plans for its employees.

The ABI Innovation Award

The ABI Award for Innovation in Banking Services was established in 2011 with the aim of giving visibility to innovative projects and services and activating positive mechanisms for disseminating the best practices in the sector. Over the years, the ABI Award has registered growing attention from the banking world, with 475 projects presented in various editions by 192 banks. The eighth edition was attended by 66 projects by 20 banking groups, examined by the Technical Scientific Committee and by the Jury, made up of representatives of the business, institutional and academic world. The ninth edition of the initiative was launched in 2019, the winners of which will be awarded at the ABI Lab Forum on the afternoon of March 28 in Milan, at Palazzo Mezzanotte 91. Particular attention will be paid to projects oriented towards sustainability, communication, digital transformation and the introduction of new financial services also from a Fintech perspective.
