156 years of the Voluntary Military Corps of the CRI and 114 years of the Voluntary Nurses
The soldiers of the Volunteer Military Corps and the Red Cross nurse of the Corps of Volunteer Nurses proudly celebrate their annual party today on the emblematic date in which in 1985 the pro-tempore Head of State, Sandro Pertini, granted to the Corps of the Italian Red Cross auxiliaries of the Armed Forces the use of the National Flag, convincingly renewing the very strong sense of belonging that has always characterized its unconditional service to others in difficulty, guided by the Seven Fundamental Principles, spirit and ethics of International Movement, imprinted on the heart of every Red Cross operator.
"With sincere wishes I want to highlight that " states Undersecretary PUCCIARELLI “The ideal belonging of the auxiliary CRI Corps of the Armed Forces to the“ great defense family ”is written in their luminous history of meritorious and tireless commitment; in the 156 years of the Voluntary Military Corps and in the 114 years of the Corps of Volunteer Nurses, in which the generations who wore their well-known insignia - the gray-green with the international health bracelet of the soldiers and the white dress of the sisters - contributed to delivering the two national excellence that we know, components always animated by active commitment and vital passions of which today we share the noblest value references of solidarity, generosity and altruism towards those who suffer, to show as an example, especially in favor of our young people".
"To all of you soldiers of the Voluntary Military Corps and to the Red Cross nurse of the Corps of Voluntary Nurses " Senator PUCCIARELLI continues "All my gratitude and esteem as a woman of the institutions and a citizen goes, for the professionalism, passion and humanity with which you work, always at the forefront, in the rescue operations, on the occasion of natural or man-made disasters, making a essential service for the community; in many situations, also by supporting the work of our Armed Forces with which they have shared the commitment in advanced defense operations several times, receiving transversal appreciation at home and outside national borders".
We must not forget the enormous effort ensured by the Corps that we are celebrating today during this pandemic, putting in place, without saving energy, all the precious resources available to counter the spread of COVID 19, in all the complex phases of the health emergency, confirming once again the inherent enabling value, both in the figure of auxiliaries to the Armed Forces, and in the qualifying union between the very high technical-specialist preparation and the absolute proximity to the weakest.
