The channels for dialogue between Seoul and Pyongyang reopen

The South Korean Unification Minister announced that North Korea has reopened the communication channel with South Korea through the village of Panmunjon, in the demilitarized area on the border between the two countries.

South Korean presidential spokesman Yoon Young-chan commented positively on the news that he said that "I think it signals a step towards a situation where communication will be possible at all times".

This sign of openness by the Pyongyang regime comes after the high-level talks offered yesterday by Seoul to discuss North Korean participation in the South Africa Winter Games in South Korea next February.
