According to reports from CNN, at least 5.000 demonstrators have occupied Hong Kong airport to protest against the local government and China.
Many of them wear bandages over their eyes, in protest against the wounded eye, on Sunday, of a demonstrator reached by a rubber bullet.
The atmosphere at the moment appears to be quiet but the airport authorities have still canceled all flights to and from the former British colony, leaving many tourists, even our compatriots, confused and without precise information.
Specifically, as communicated by the airport authorities, all departing flights for which check-in has not already been completed have been canceled and only arriving flights that have already departed for the Chinese city will be able to land. The airport also invites all passengers to leave the building "as soon as possible".
According to local company Cathay Pacific, cancellations will continue until Tuesday morning.
