Rome South, stealing telephone repeater batteries, arrested by the Carabinieri

During an operational activity the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Colleferro, south of Rome, arrested an Italian of 48 years, with specific precedents, on charges of aggravated theft.

During the normal checks of the territory, the Carabinieri of the Nucleo Operativo and Radiomobile noticed the criminal escaping aboard a van, hired precisely to carry out the theft, from a repeater. Shortly thereafter he was caught up and checked. Following the vehicle search, the military found the entire stolen goods consisting of 16 batteries, owned by an Italian telephone company, which usually work in the event of a blackout, to allow regular telephone traffic, and which would have earned the man , on the black market, around 2500 euros. After the arrest, the man was detained in the barracks, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, waiting to appear before the Court of Velletri, where he was validated and for the 48-year-old the obligation to present himself to the awaiting judicial police began of the final process, and moreover the Carabinieri have notified him of the preventive measure of the compulsory travel document from the Municipality of Colleferro, where he will not be able to return for 3 years.
