The Carabinieri of the Valmontone Station have arrested three people of Chilean nationality, a 33-year-old, a 34-year-old already known and a 35-year-old, seriously suspected of aggravated theft in competition of footwear inside a business located in the Valmontone Outlet.
According to the complaint of the owner of the business, the three men, arriving from the capital, went inside the shop and with particular dexterity stole the shoes on display, placing them in a bag, thus eluding the anti-theft devices.
This operation was noticed by the Outlet's security personnel who alerted the Carabinieri of the Valmontone Station.
Within a few minutes, the military intervened and stopped the three individuals, recovering the stolen goods, with a total value of 300 euros, which were returned to the rightful owner. Timely investigations allowed them to identify the vehicle used by the Chileans to reach the shopping center and to find inside burglary tools (crowbars and shears) with gloves and torches, all seized material.
All three were arrested red-handed for aggravated theft in competition and reported at large for possession of burglary tools.
This morning the arrests were validated by the Court of Velletri which thus ordered the precautionary measure of the obligation to report to the barracks every day.
It is important to point out that, given the state of the proceedings, the defendants must be considered innocent until a final sentence is reached.
The operation by the Carabinieri of the Colleferro Company is part of a broader prevention plan aimed at combating the phenomenon of thefts in commercial activities, with the help of security personnel.
