Salvini flies to Cairo to ask for "Shedding full light on the Regeni murder"

After the meeting in the past few days by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte with the young Regeni's family, Interior Minister Matteo Salvini flew to Cairo to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and his counterpart Abdel Ghaffar, a clear sign that Government is trying to make time to reach the truth about the death of Giulio Regeni.

The investigations by the Rome prosecutors, despite the misdirections of the Egyptian authorities, have led to confiscation in the seizure of at least nine National Security agents, but have been arrested due to the Egyptian wall that made the continuation of the investigation impossible so that the Rome prosecutor sent an ultimatum: "or something happens by September, or it is useless to continue with these bilateral meetings".

The Interior Ministry has made it known that during the meetings Salvini, in addition to talking about the "strengthening of initiatives in terms of security, contrasting illegal immigration and terrorism", also addressed the issue of the kidnapping, torture and murder of Giulio Regeni.

Al Sisi confirmed to Salvini "the will and the great desire to arrive at definitive results of the investigation" on the murder of Giulio and "to discover the criminals in order to bring justice".
