School, reconstituted the Scientific Technical Committee on Specific Learning Disorders

The new Technical Scientific Committee on Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) took office yesterday, in the presence of the Minister of Education Lucia Azzolina. The meeting took place via videoconference.

The Committee - of which the leading Italian experts on the subject belong - has returned to meet today, for the first time, since 2013, the year of the last call. Its reconstitution was strongly desired by Minister Azzolina.

Harmonizing the current legislation and updating the Guidelines for the right to study of pupils and pupils with SLD to new scientific evidence in the pedagogical and psychological fields are the two main working objectives of the group of experts.

“As you know, the Committee, although required by law, has not been reconstituted in recent years - underlined Minister Azzolina, thanking the members of the CTS today -. On the other hand, it is important that such a delicate sector be supervised by high scientific professionals, able to provide guidance to schools. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we owe it to our girls and our boys: we will improve the path of inclusion, for a school that is ever more welcoming and capable of guaranteeing the best for our students and our students ".
