School, 159 million for innovative educational environments for childhood

A total funding of 159 million euros for furnishings, teaching tools and digital equipment in kindergarten. There is time until June 17 to participate in the notice entitled "Innovative educational environments for kindergarten", published today on the website of the Ministry of Education.

The objective of the call, financed thanks to the European Structural Funds (PON and REACT EU), in line with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, is to promote didactic innovation with the creation, even in the schools of the little ones, of innovative environments and spaces, which guarantee safety, accessibility, inclusiveness, flexibility, in compliance with the principles of environmental sustainability, and with furnishings that allow the reconfiguration of the space on the basis of the activities envisaged from time to time. 

“With the strategic use of European funds we want to guarantee the innovation of the school system, right from the earliest years of learning”, explains Minister Patrizio Bianchi. "Innovating the school means not only constructing new buildings or classrooms, but also remodeling and redesigning the interior spaces, to allow laboratory teaching that focuses on our children, their educational success and which allows us to prevent phenomena such as abandonment and dispersion through a new vision of the school in which female students are the protagonists of their learning ".

State educational institutions with active preschool sections belonging to the regions of Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Molise, Piedmont may participate in the notice. , Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Umbria and Veneto. The interventions must be carried out, tested and concluded promptly and in any case by 31 December 2022. 

The maximum amount of funding for each institution is 75.000 euros. Schools will be able to submit project proposals by accessing the address http://www.ificazione.it/pon/. The deadline for submitting applications is set at 12.00 on 17 June 2022. 

Duly submitted applications will be eligible for funding, up to the limit of available resources. The regional rankings with the list of schools admitted for funding will be published on the Ministry website.
