The first statistical data on the new school year are available. There are 7.286.151 female students and students who will return to the desks of state schools in the school year 2022/2023, for a total of 366.310 classes
The first to return to the classroom were the pupils of the Province of Bolzano on 5 September. From Monday, according to the calendars prepared at the regional level, it will officially start again in Abruzzo, Basilicata, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto and in the Province of Trento. On 13 September it will be the turn of children and young people from Campania. On September 14, lessons start in Calabria, Liguria, Marche, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia, Umbria. On the 15th, however, they will resume in Emilia-Romagna, Lazio and Tuscany. In line, on 19 September, Sicily and Valle d'Aosta.

Pupils, classes, staff, here are the first data
This year 821.970 girls and boys will attend kindergarten, primary pupils will be 2.260.929, lower secondary students will be 1.557.403, 2.645.849 girls and boys will go to upper secondary school. 51,1% of the latter will attend a high school address, 31,8% a technical institute, 17,1% a professional.
The Ministry is making a first data package available today. As usual, the traditional statistical analysis on the 2022/2023 school year will be published in the coming days.
As regards the school staff, based on the data uploaded to the system on 8 September and being updated, in August the Regional School Offices (General Directions and Territorial Offices) continued to work for an orderly start of the New Year. According to the data available to date, which are being updated, the recruitment operations carried out in August allowed the hiring of 50.415 teachers, 9.021 ATA (Administrative, Technical and Auxiliary staff) and 317 school managers.
