School, agreement signed between Ministers Patrizio Bianchi, Dario Franceschini and associations from the world of theater and audiovisuals

Cinematographic techniques and methodologies for an increasingly innovative teaching method

This morning the Minister of Education Patrizio Bianchi and the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini signed the Memorandum of Understanding with UNITA-Unione Nazionale Interpreti Teatro and Audiovisivo, with the Academy of Italian Cinema-David di Donatello Awards and with “Alice nella City". The aim of the agreement is to launch a broad common training course dedicated to teachers, female students and students, and to introduce the techniques and methodologies of theater and audiovisual in the classroom.

During the meeting, "United for the school" was presented, an experimental training project, which will be promoted in ten schools in different Italian cities, conceived by UNITA-National Union of Theater and Audiovisual Interpreters, in collaboration with other associations present. A path that will enhance the training of teachers, but not only: it will be possible to use techniques and methodologies that characterize the work of cinema and theater in the classroom. Teaching tools that will become precious allies for ever more innovative teaching.

"We bring new communication methods to class to ensure that the youngest learn to work together, but also to confront and share their ideas - explained the Minister of Education Patrizio Bianchi -. And it is fantastic that our Italian actors have made themselves available to the school. The 'United for the school' project is aimed at girls and boys aged 11 to 15, a very delicate age, especially at this time when the youngest need to get together. It is an extraordinary job that we, as a school, will do everything to make ordinary ”, concluded the Minister.

“The initiative is very important - declared the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini - and is part of a line of actions that we are doing together, with the aim of accustoming people to consume culture or to get closer to places of culture. All this can only pass from school. We have an important law which establishes that 3% of the Cinema Fund is destined to invest in the relationship between audiovisual and cinema with schools. Important resources have arrived in recent years. We can do a great job and I believe that with good mutual listening between the world of associations, categories and ministries, virtuous projects like this can be born ".

The event was attended, together with the Ministers, by Vittoria Puccini, President of "UNITA-National Union of Theater and Audiovisual Interpreters", and Pierfrancesco Favino, founding member of "UNITA", together with the school table, Piera Detassis, President and Artistic Director of 'Academy of Italian Cinema-David di Donatello Awards, and Fabia Bettini together with Gianluca Giannelli Artistic Directors of “Alice nella Città”.

"The fundamental idea is to use the tools and techniques of cinema and theater to identify a teaching that is more engaging and closer to the new generations - explained the actress Vittoria Puccini, President of UNITA-Unione Nazionale Interpreti Teatro and Audiovisual '-. In this way, girls and boys will feel at the center of a process that enhances their creative and imaginative resources ”.

“I would like to assure you - adds Pierfrancesco Favino, founding partner of“ UNITA ”- that the energies that move us have the improvement of our society deeply at heart. Proof of this is the fact that our collaboration proposal makes the specificity of our profession available, with the aim of helping students and schools to be prepared for the world of work and its ever-changing demands. With the desire to make our children grow up as critical consciences and with the certainty that creativity and commitment are the best tools with which to face difficulties in a peaceful and collective way ".

“This initiative - declared Piera Detassis, President and Artistic Director of the Academy of Italian Cinema-David di Donatello Awards - is particularly important for the Academy, because we try to work on training the public, the new audience. We believe it is a crucial issue. Now we join this project: it is a sign of the fact that we are changing the teaching of cinema and audiovisuals. And of the fact that the David has definitely changed, it is no longer just a promotional tool, but also a training tool ”.

“'Alice nella Città' works all year round with training projects aimed at teachers and students. For us it is very important to try, through theater and cinema, to give children a different support and training for teachers, so that they can train personalities - said Fabia Bettini, Artistic Director of “Alice nella Città” -. Together we can do it and this project demonstrates it, which will start very soon and behind which there is a group of very passionate artists who are working very hard, in whom we believe a lot ".
