Small but good. The season of clementines has arrived, a citrus fruit with great virtues, the protagonist of the Christmas tables. Also this month, dedicated to Italian clementines, the promotion and communication campaign launched by the Interprofessional Organization Ortofrutta Italia to send to buy our seasonal products, and which involves the entire national sector together with thousands of points of sale of the main distribution chains and many specialized and proximity shops.

“An initiative that this month takes on particular value. What awaits us will be a different and difficult Christmas, but our traditional seasonal products cannot be missing on the tables of Italians. An invitation to be grasped absolutely, to support the entire supply chain and our production of excellence severely tested by the difficulties that the sector is facing due to the harsh effects of the pandemic, with heavy repercussions on the market due to the contraction of internal consumption and export ".

Thus Minister Teresa Bellanova on the communication campaign promoted by Ortofrutta Italia which avails itself of the patronage of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies to support and enhance Italian fruit and vegetable products according to the seasonal calendar.

“The consumption of seasonal products is the basis of the Mediterranean diet”, continues Bellanova. “And in its tenth anniversary we want to renew this very important invitation: every month its fruit and vegetable, for a healthy diet, and to support our products, farmers and territories. There is nothing fairer than continuing to promote correct information on the quality of our products, the right time to consume them, their qualities. The alliance with the consumer is strategic. The path to face the problems of fruit and vegetables also passes through communication. Correct information, which strengthens the pact between producers and consumers, is the best ally of our fruit and vegetables and our agri-food chain.
