“Senza Rete”, docufilm to talk about cyberbullying

"Senza rete" was screened at the Ariston in the Sala Ritz in the presence of hundreds of students. in collaboration with the State Police and Rai Documentari, broadcast by Rai Due on 7 February on the occasion of the world day against cyberbullying.

"It's a nightmare and I don't know how to get out of it, I just want to disappear forever", with these words begins "Senza Rete", a docufilm that tells the story of cyberbullying trying to reveal its nature: a monster to look in the face to be able to recognize and face it.

The idea for this documentary was born from the speech of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, on the occasion of the inauguration of the school year last September 16 in Grugnasco (TO), who, recalling the drama of Alessandro Cascone - the young man from Gragnano committed suicide at the age of 13, victim of bullying – called for greater commitment from the whole of society to combat cyberbullying and recalled the value of school, which is central to our Republic.

In parallel with the growth of various forms of youth discomfort - declares the Police Commissioner of Imperia Giuseppe Felice Peritore - today the requests for help from boys and girls who are victims of cyberbullying have tripled. Those who persecute hide behind the social network, diminishing the seriousness of their actions, while those who are persecuted remain entangled in that network, to the point of running the risk of suffocating. “Senza Rete” intends to remove that network, which can be an alibi or an instrument of torture at the same time. And it does so by placing the stories of some boys and girls who are victims of cyberbullying at the center of the narrative, through their direct testimony and that of the people closest to them, of the Postal Police Operators who, with their humanity, found themselves supporting them and rescue them. Like the story of Andrea, who couldn't defeat that monster, or that of Francesco and Valeria who instead emerge and knock him down, leaving behind fear and shame.

Through their stories and with the help of psychologists, teachers and experts from the Postal Police, "Senza Rete" shows the dark folds of cyberbullying but also and above all the light at the end of the tunnel that can brighten that darkness.

The screening of the docufilm is dedicated to Alessandro Cascone with the participation of the students of the Sanremo schools together with the Police Chief of the Province of Imperia Giuseppe Felice Peritore and the director of Rai Documentari, Fabrizio Zappi.
