Serie B, "the Bomber Championship"

What a show this Serie B. We are only on the 3rd day but the great expectations placed by the millions of fans who follow our cadet championship both by fans of the clubs that participate in it, both by football fans and then in general sports that more and more frequently are approaching this football, perhaps more on a human scale than the still beautiful and competitive at international levels Serie A. It will be as we have already said the genuineness of the championship and its continuous unpredictability, it will be that the worry of the result is not as strong as in the top flight, but almost all the Serie B teams play, yes to win, but also to have fun and to try to launch some young people with high hopes that allow their coffers to fill up and to be able to practically stay in "life" at very good levels.
Matchday 3 of Serie B, still in progress pending the two postponements scheduled between today (Parma-Brescia at 17.30) and tomorrow evening (Cittadella-Perugia at 20.30), has so far given us the beauty of 33 goals. The result of 0-0 seems not to be expected, and in fact it does not appear among the final results of yesterday. The day had been inaugurated with the spectacular anticipation of the "Friday Night" which we talked about in a previous article, between Pescara and Frosinone who had given life to a fireworks match which ended with the result of 3-3. Even the interpreters of the matches played yesterday must have seen it carefully, this advance that certainly did not spare the spectators' emotions. The proof of this is that yesterday's matches come out of the goleade as rarely happens, even in Serie B.
Starting with the most accredited teams in the category jump, Palermo and Empoli even replicate the exact result of Pescara-Frosinone and end the match on the same score of 3-3 in a match that in the 14th minute of the first half saw Palermo in advantage with the reassuring score of 2-0 through the goals scored at 10 'by Cionek and precisely at 14' by Coronado. It seems to witness a one-way match because Palermo retains the ball of the game for half of the first half when Empoli, thanks to a header by Simic, finds the goal that shortens the distance and with it the courage to be able to recapture a result that seemed compromised. The first half ends with the Tuscans forward who try to complete the work of the comeback but do not succeed thanks to the rosanero goalkeeper. It is only a matter of minutes, because after nine turns of the clock, during the second half, the striker Caputo, with a conclusion that to tell the truth did not seem irresistible, equalized the score. It is 2-2 and the two teams up to the new advantage of Palermo, signed by Gnahoré in the 77th minute, practically cancel each other out. Empoli, however, proves to be a great team, does not give up, and when the time is practically expired they find a draw on a penalty kick awarded by the referee for a foul by the player who was deciding the big match up to that moment. Gnahoré lands Caputo in the rosanero area, the referee points to the spot and the bomber from Bari scores the final 3-3 by obtaining a gold point for his team, bringing his partial loot of goals to 2 and in fact doubling his scorer ranking that for now sees him alongside the North Korean of Perugia Han with 4 goals in the wake of the current bomber king, the Pescara-based Pettinari who has scored 6 goals.
The number 6 is repeated on this third day, because after mentioning the personal loot of the current top scorer of the championship, and after the first two games presented, in each of which 6 goals were scored, we move on to talk about a ' another game that records the same total of goals scored, even if divided in a different way. And already because the Avellino of mister Novellino plays the part of the greedy against the newly promoted Foggia di Stroppa and knocks him down with a very heavy 5-1, the second suffered in two away matches by the Rossoneri after the one recorded at the debut against Pescara of Zeman. Play well and make this Avellino better, masterfully fielded by a fox of the category which is Mr. Novellino. Too much Avellino therefore for a Foggia never really playing and that compared to what he had done in Pescara, where he had played for a good 40 minutes at high levels, seems to take an ugly and dangerous step back from the point of view of the game in Irpinia, revealing a soft defense like butter but also an inconsistent attack, able to score the only goal only thanks to a penalty kick, however non-existent, scored by Mazzeo in the 29th minute of the first half when the result was stopped at 2 -0 due to the goals of Ardemagni at 9 'on a penalty kick and by Morosini at 21'. The two Avellino bombers, in a splendid day of grace like the whole team, also signed their personal double during the match. In fact, in reverse order compared to the first two goals, Morosini at 36 'and Ardemagni at 59' bring the result to 4-1, then the other green-and-white bomber Castaldo, entered from the bench, to complete the "manita" at 70 ' .
For a newly promoted player who flounders in the lower parts of the standings, there are two others, waiting for the postponement of Parma, which show that they have already become familiar with the category. Cremonese and Venice in fact conquer the Piola di Vercelli and the San Nicola di Bari respectively with two tests that do not leave many replicas to the opponents. Tesser's grigiorossi, after the debut defeat against Parma, had beaten Avellino 3-1 in the previous round with a bit of luck and continue, this time with more personality, in collecting the 3 points, going to trim 4 goals at home of a Pro Vercelli who actually appeared as one of the least equipped teams in the category. The sequence of the networks is as follows: advantage of the guests at minute 8 thanks to the Pesce network. Reply at 38 'Brighenti always for the grigiorossi. You have to wait for the last 19 minutes to see the other three goals scored during the match. In the 81st minute thanks to a splendid overhead kick applauded also by the very sporty home crowd, Cavion scores his first goal in Serie B. At 88 'on a penalty kick he shortens the Pro Vercelli with one of his men who appeared in better condition , that is to say Florence, but the former Frosinone Mokulu thinks about the 90th to put the seal on a one-way race. It ends 1-4 for Cremonese. Perhaps less predictable is the first success of the season for Venezia coached by world champion Pippo Inzaghi, obtained at the home of another world champion's team, that Fabio Grosso who is entrusted with the not easy task of bringing the Bari square back to where it deserves. Venice wins 2-0 which, by virtue of the first two league matches which ended with white nets, keeps their goal clean even in Bari. A Bari not helped by luck, however, given the two woods hit by the red and white during a match who, however, showed great limits revealed by the hosts especially on the flanks and confirmed a defensive solidity of the guests arranged with a difficult to break up 5-3-2. The goals of the match, the first in this Serie B for Venezia, bear the signature of the former Bari, Bentivoglio who at 30 'scores a penalty kick granted for a foul by D'Elia and by Zigoni who perhaps in the moment better than a Bari in search of a draw, he closes the games at minute 13 of the second half.
From the matches characterized by the goleade, passing through the granite defense of Venice, we come to another granite defense embellished by an attack that marks the right to close the 3rd day of the cadet championship in the lead with full points. We speak clearly of the Carpi that since yesterday, and at least for the moment in solitude, looks at all the opponents from the top of his 9 points obtained thanks to three very concrete 1-0 against Novara, Spezia and yesterday's last victim, Salernitana. It still marks the surprise of this championship start at Carpi. That Malcore who until last year played with Manfredonia among the amateurs and who had also been decisive in the debut, always at home against Novara. The goal scored him in the 35th minute of the first half and it was enough to beat a Salernitana who appeared to be healthy and very combative, however, even though Carpi was exhausted, she was unable to get out of Cabassi unscathed.
The championship of Ternana has been very nice so far, given as a sacrificial victim by many insiders due to the radical revolution implemented in the summer during which he had changed practically the whole squad, including that Mr. Liverani who at the helm of the Fere had become the protagonist of a real sporting miracle, culminating in a salvation that no one believed anymore. At Liberati si Terni, in front of an audience that seems to return to the glories and enthusiasm of the past, Ternana beats Cesena of the former Perugia Camplone with the result of 1-0 thanks to a goal by Angiulli in the 7 'of the first time. Cesena tries to grab a draw and manages for long stretches to make the game but Ternana contains well and becomes dangerous when possible. At the end of the race, the approximately 5.000 Terni who crowd the stands, lead the coach Pochesci in triumph, to his first
Victory in Series B.
First points for Mr. Corini's Novara. That after two rather unfortunate defeats by Carpi and Parma, puts the first 3 precious points of the season in the safe going to conquer the Del Duca of Ascoli. Yet the game immediately went well for the hosts who took the lead thanks to the goal scored by Loris Varela in the 6 'minute of play. Then the Novara-born Da Cruz thinks about it, who in the ten minutes between the break, signs the first goals of the season for Novara with a brace and the three-point overtaking to the detriment of Ascoli, actually unfortunate to find himself in front of a Montipò in a day of grace, which blocks the Piedmontese gate and consequently the precious result obtained.
The day of the series B series is completed with the first points earned by Spezia in this
Championship, thanks to the success obtained in the Ligurian derby against Virtus Entella. He opens the scoring in the 14th minute for the hosts. The guests manage to catch the tie in the 62nd minute with De Luca but when the game seemed to start at the final whistle with the result of a tie, the bomber from La Spezia Marilungo thinks about the 90 'to fix the final result on the score of 2-1.
