So many questions that arise spontaneously. Why attack the former defense minister today, given that he is not a parliamentarian and is outside any logic of power? Probably, under the pot there is something else that he hopes will come out as soon as possible to give a reasonable response to attacks that analyzing the facts and regulations would seem totally unfounded.

As is known, my husband is an officer of the Italian Army with the rank of major and currently holds a position of first level, a position for which the assignment of accommodation of the same level as the one assigned to me is envisaged ( in fact, I was not granted ASIR accommodation - the so-called representative accommodation - but first-class ASI accommodation.
Therefore, having my husband requested a service accommodation, to avoid further economic burdens on the administration (to which the moving costs are responsible, etc.), the same previously granted to me was reassigned, upon request and according to the same procedure as above ".

This is the letter I sent to the journalist, an instrument of someone who has been attacking me for two days. I wonder why but in the meantime I think it is right to clarify.

I'm just saying it's serious that these things happen in the country".

So Fiorenza Sarzanini on Il Corriere della Sera. She obtained "service" housing shortly after being appointed defense minister. But in that apartment in one of the most evocative places in the center of Rome, Elisabetta Thirty he has decided to stay there even now that he no longer has any public role. And she succeeded in having him assigned to her husband, the major of the Army Claudio Passarelli. A story that embarrasses the dicastery but above all the 5 Star Movement which had indicated her for the executive as an "expert in military issues" and has always been aligned - at least in words - against privileges. Also because the concession could have taken place by circumventing the regulations, given that the couple has their own house in the capital and therefore does not seem to need to use the accommodation. In any case, the "level i" of residence attributed at the time of choosing the house for the minister is much higher than that foreseen for the position and rank of her spouse. And therefore it is not excluded that the accounting judiciary is called to assess any damage to the tax authorities and the ordinary one must verify the regularity of the assignment procedure. Not to mention that it could be the Movement, first of all the political leader Luigi Di Maio, to ask the former minister to account for what happened. The request for accommodation We therefore return to June 2018 when Movimento 5 Stelle and Lega form the government led by Giuseppe Conte. Thirty she is chosen as Defense Manager. In general, ministers who reside in Rome or otherwise have an apartment in the city available, do not obtain service accommodation. Their home is "locked up" and all the security measures appropriate to the role are set up, while the transfer is decided only in exceptional situations of serious threat. She has a house in the Pineto neighborhood, there doesn't seem to be any particular risks, but she asks for a "residence" where she moves with her husband. It is located in a building of the ministry a few hundred meters from Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano. The apartment is on the 2nd floor, very large, those who have seen it speak of a "high-level house". The conflict of interest The procedure is followed by the XNUMXth department of the Army General Staff led by General Paolo Raudino. Well before the yellow-green government goes into crisis, the minister decides to finalize the assignment. And so it is established that the owner is the husband. In reality, just two days after arriving at the Defense, the relationship between Thirty and the spouse had been at the center of controversy over a possible
conflict of interest. Passatelli was in fact an "officer in charge of the secretariat of the deputy national director of armaments at the General Affairs office" and this had prompted the opposition to raise the problem of possible incompatibility. With an official note, the collaborators of Thirty they had therefore communicated that "the minister has asked for the transfer of the captain major Claudio Passarelli for reasons of expediency to the General Affairs office, headed by a civil manager, who oversees the organizational and logistical needs of the operation of the general secretariat". In reality, the shift did not occur, but evidently Thirty she doesn't think her family bond will cause her problems. So the procedure for the apartment goes on. And when at the end of August the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte decrees the end of the yellow-green government, Passarelli is the owner of the accommodation. Missing requirements According to the rules of the Ministry of Defense - published in the Official Gazette - "service" accommodations are assigned on the basis of the position held. And the rank of major captain of Passarelli is not among those who can obtain a first level accommodation, as is precisely the one occupied by the minister and now remained in the availability of the couple. And then we need to clarify the problem of the house in the Pigneto district, given that one of the requirements to enter the ranking is to prove that you do not have another home in the municipality of residence. Circumstances on which Thirty and her husband will have to provide explanations.

The Journal in an editorial last Saturday revealed information that should remain in the secret rooms of our Secret Service Agencies. It was just a love story, the one between the secret services and the Link Campus, the Roman university breeding ground of the politicians of the 5 Star Movement ended up at the center of the Russiagate scandal. After the revelations on the role in the anti-Trump plot of Professor Jospeh Mifsud, now long unavailable, now a detail comes up that concerns the most famous among Grillini exponents formed in the university founded by the ex Interior Minister Vincenzo Scotti. This is Elisabetta Trenta, a graduate of Link and appointed Minister of Defense in the Conte 1 government. That the Trenta had contacts in the world of intelligence by family means was known: her husband is an army officer who worked for a long time to the employee of General Giovanni Caravelli, currently deputy director of Aise (former Sismi). But evidently the Thirty was not enough: she wanted for herself a future as a secret agent in the first person. An internal act of Aise, which the Giornale has at its disposal and whose authenticity it has verified, tells us that Elisabetta Trenta applied for employment at Aise at the time when foreign 007 were led by General Alberto Manenti.

The Trenta managed to get its candidacy examined, it overcame the first hurdle and when it was one step away from enrollment it clashed over the most banal obstacle, the psycho-attitudinal interview. This is the exam that all aspiring spies must undergo even in the case (like that of the Trenta) that are not intended for field operations or infiltrations. It is a question of verifying by talking with psychologists and psychiatrists whether the candidates have the character solidity to withstand a profession which is nevertheless complex. And the Thirty is rejected.

The documents of Aise say that the doctor was offered at that point a sort of consolation prize: the assumption as "article 7". The article provides for a time employment, to follow specific projects directly under the head of the agency. When the director changes, the "7 articles" automatically cease service. And this explains why the Trenta declines the offer: its referent would have been Manenti, whose mandate at the head of the Aise was about to expire. Just the time to start, and she would have stayed at home.

The grillina exponent, on the other hand, from a few months later consoled himself to much higher levels, being appointed as Minister of Defense, and thus confiscating relations with the secret services far more solid than those he would have had as a mere agent Temporary. Of course, it may seem strange that a person who has not passed the psychic exam for a low-level position is chosen as defense minister: but for members of the government there are no aptitude visits. It should be noted that in the new role, Minister Trenta uses and reinforces the relationships he already had in his previous life: both with Caravelli, her husband's former hierarchical superior, and with the other deputy director of Aise appointed by the premier Giuseppe Conte (first version, yellow-green government) or the general of Finance Giuseppe Caputo. Trenta's relations with Caravelli and Caputo are in the public domain. And even when last May the Espresso accuses Caputo of being among those responsible for the purchase of an espionage software called Exodus, which the Rome Public Prosecutor actually considers a dangerous malware.

In summer the Conte 1 government falls, and in the new cabinet the Trenta is not confirmed. But the story of his application for employment in Aise inevitably confounds the questions about the actual role played by Link Campus in our government's intelligence activities. Starting from the role of Alberto Manenti, who was at the head of Aise when the American services asked for Italian help to curb Donald Trump's run for president, and that in recent days La Verità indicated that he was the prompter for the disappearance of Mifsud . And that, despite being retired, he met the head of the CIA on the occasion of his last visit to Rome.
