Black smoke for the Chamber and the Senate. Berlusconi points his finger at Salvini and "Rompe coalizione"

The tear comes to the 18 when Matteo Salvini returns to the Senate after communicating, to things done, to Silvio Berlusconi the decision of the League: in the Madama palace, already the second calls, the Northern League voted Anna Maria Bernini.

A decision that seems not to have been liked by Silvio Berlusconi, according to which it is an act of "cold hostility" which in fact "breaks the center-right coalition".

For Salvini, on the other hand, it is a gesture of responsibility that aims to break the deadlock and avoid wasting further time and allow Parliament to start work as soon as possible. And he adds: “We have not asked for anything for us, so much so that despite having taken the votes we are not asking for the presidency of the Chamber or that of the Senate, but if everyone remains firm on their positions it is night here. So we have chosen in the Senate to vote a Forza Italia candidate to see if the other oppositions, starting with 5 stars, have prejudices only on the name or are willing to reason to start the work of the Parliament. It is an act of love towards the country towards the Parliament and towards the center-right. And we hope that everyone has the same responsibility and, if necessary, half a step backwards as we did ”.

Hence the reaction of Forza Italia which, as Renato Schifani explains, is a "not agreed" choice that anticipates the harsh reaction of Berlusconi who considers this choice an act of hostility. The leader of FI, who brought together the leaders of the coalition at Palazzo Grazioli, states: "The votes in the Senate for Anna Maria Bernini, used instrumentally, are to be considered an act of cold hostility by the League which on the one hand breaks the unity of the center-right coalition and on the other it unmasks the project for a Lega-M5S government ”.

Giancarlo Giorgetti, Salvini's right-hand man, tries to minimize and also opens to the search for another name as long as he is also shared with the 5 Stars Movement and has a similar profile to Bernini with the only prejudice not investigated or condemned.

The Knight also meets Anna Maria Bernini who writes in a twitter "It is quite clear that I am unavailable to be the candidate of others without the support of President @berlusconi and my party."

The day then ends with nothing done, but the night will certainly be full of meetings and comparisons aimed at finding an understanding on the names that lead to the appointment of the presidents of the House and Senate.
