"I die of thirst", starts the awareness campaign on the conditions of Lake Bracciano

Despite the first rains in September, the drought emergency continues in Lake Bracciano, in the province of Rome.

Hundreds of citizens poured water from plastic bottles in the waters of Lake Bracciano, "drained" in recent months by the drawings to dampen the city of Rome and the prolonged lack of rainfall. A "flash mob" that has been almost a gesture of affection from citizenship to a protagonist of the history and everyday life of all the inhabitants of the area.

An act of nonviolent rebellion on the part of those who do not resign themselves to indifferently witness the degradation of one of the most beautiful lake basins in Italy and the disruption of its natural ecosystem.

A symbolic gesture, a collective testimony or "the silent and desperate cry of our Lake in agony": "Muoio di Sete" is the name given to the initiative organized in the afternoon at the lakeside in via Reginaldo Belloni in Anguillara Sabazia.

The promoters on Facebook underlined: “The environmental disaster is upon us due to the drought, but above all due to the continuous withdrawals by Acea. We cannot afford to make Lake Bracciano die of thirst ”. We start with some water, which will not revive the fate of a lake which has now reached the lowest hydrometric levels in its history, but which is at least a omen for better times.
