State Police: "Bad Lieutenant Operation"

The Catania State Police, on behalf of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, today executed a precautionary custody order for criminal association aimed at the trafficking of narcotic substances and detention for the purpose of drug dealing against 13 subjects, of of which 6 translated into prison, 2 under house arrest and 5 subject to the obligation of presentation to the PS Authority

The investigation, launched in May 2017 by the Flying Squad and the "Nesima" Commissariat, focused on one of the drug-dealing squares in the San Giovanni Galermo district.

During the investigation, elements were acquired regarding the existence of a well-organized group that regularly and constantly managed the sale of marijuana with a perfect distribution of tasks between pushers, lookouts and custodians of the drug.

The shop activity, distributed over two shifts (10: 00/14: 00 and 15: 00/20: 00), took place inside the porticoes of the buildings in the neighborhood with a tour of about 200 daily supplies.

The astonishing substance was hidden inside an iron trap door carved into the ground where the various pushers were supplied during the two drug shifts.

The investigators managed to place video cameras inside the shop square, taking drug trafficking for months and obtaining evidence in order to ascertain the responsibility of the arrested.
