Ukrainian students, Minister Patrizio Bianchi signs the Ordinance for the evaluation

The Minister of Education Patrizio Bianchi signed the Ordinance for the evaluation of learning in the final ballots and for the State Exams of Ukrainian students for the school year 2021/2022. The Ordinance is valid for all Ukrainian pupils and students enrolled in Italian schools of the first and second cycle starting last February 24, following the conflict in Ukraine.

Evaluation in the intermediate classes

For the scrutinies of the intermediate classes of the first and second cycle, the assessment is carried out collectively by the class council (by the co-owners of the class for primary school), with reference to any personalized teaching plan (PDP), prepared taking into account the '' psychological impact and the level of linguistic-communicative skills in Italian, as well as the complexity of the learning process matured in the context of the war and the consequent humanitarian emergency.

In the first cycle, students are admitted to the next class even in the absence of sufficient elements for the evaluation that is expressed through an overall judgment on learning, on the acquisition of linguistic-communicative skills, on the level of socialization and participation in teaching.

In the second cycle, in the absence of sufficient evaluation elements or with marks of less than six tenths, one is still admitted to the next class, but the class council prepares an individualized learning plan with objectives and strategies for achieving the relative learning levels . In the third and fourth grades, the assignment of school credit is postponed to the school year 2022/2023 following appropriate checks on the achievement of the objectives.

For pupils and students admitted to subsequent classes, an individualized learning plan will be prepared and, in the school year 2022/2023, suitable activities will be carried out to support its implementation.

The State Exam of the first and second cycle

For Ukrainian students who, according to the class council, are not able to take the final exams of the first and second cycle in consideration of the level of receptive and productive written and oral linguistic skills in the Italian language, or for the failure to achieve the disciplinary competences envisaged by the national indications and the guidelines, the exemption from carrying out the state exams may be resolved.

To these pupils and students, in the final scrutiny, the class council issues a formative credit certificate which, for the pupils of the third grade of lower secondary school, becomes the qualification for enrollment in the upper secondary school.

Training courses for adults

In the adult education courses at the CPIA, the assessment is carried out taking into account the individual training agreement and on the basis of the didactic activities carried out. The first level exam is replaced by a final evaluation by the teachers. The class council, taking into account any shortcomings, can modify the individual training agreement for the following school year, to allow students to take the final State Exam.

The start of the next school year

The Ordinance also contains indications to encourage the attendance of Ukrainian pupils and students in the school year 2022/2023.
