Terrorism, Salvini: "we must organize ourselves so that it does not happen in Italy"

Interior Minister Matteo Salvini raised the alarm on the risk of terrorist attacks even in Italy, given the escalation of these days in Sri Lanka: «We must organize ourselves so that this does not happen in Italy. Law enforcement is checking thousands of points that could be at risk and so we are counting on them, which are among the best in the world. So far, fortunately, we haven't had any problems or foiled them before anything happened».

While Salvini was talking about security in Italy in Sri Lanka another attack took place in front of the church of Sant'Antonio, in Colombo. According to a Guardian reporter present on the spot, it would have been a "small explosion" in front of the church already hit yesterday. For the BBC, the detonation took place "when police officers were trying to neutralize a bomb identified in a vehicle". Repubblica journalist Raimondo Bultrini was slightly injured as a result of the bomb explosion, according to the Repubblica website. The explosion triggered panic and the flight of those present. The perpetrators of the attacks, which were allegedly committed by seven suicide bombers, belong to the militia group of the National Thowheeth Jama'ath, a little-known Islamic group: the initials responsible for the 290 victims, including about forty foreigners, in Sri Lanka . About ten days ago the police had issued an internal alarm on possible attacks in churches, signed precisely by Islamic fundamentalists close to this organization. Yesterday in a video the attackers before their martyrdom were shown with the flag of Isis next to them.
