The 72nd Wing of the Air Force, a flagship for all helicopter pilots

(by Andrea Pinto) Il 72 ° Stormo of Frosinone, flagship of the Air Force in the training of helicopter pilots of the Arma Azzurra, of the other Armed Forces and Armed Corps of the State, as well as foreign visitors, he never stopped his training and education. Despite the emergency period due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Stormo, by implementing all internal procedures to protect the health of the staff, continued its valuable activity in the delicate sector of the training of navigators, employed on rotary wing aircraft. It should be remembered that all helicopters flying over our country are driven by patented pilots at the Wing of Frosinone. Aircraft, essential for the control of the territory but also for the urgent transport of patients, declared, in serious danger of life. In fact, there have been many missions throughout Italy of helicopters of theair Force, in bio-containment structure,  for the urgent transport of citizens affected by Covid-19. Non-stop, however, the police missions to control the territory during the various phases of the emergency. If all the helicopters manage to complete all the missions with evident success, it is partly due to the very high level of training and training received by their pilots at the Frosinone Air Force School which in over 50 years of history has more than 5000 patented.

In the now traced line of continuity, they were delivered on 13 May, at the 72nd Wing, to the Military Pilot certificates to two Lieutenants of the Air Force. The turreted eagle, symbol of the Arma Azzurra pilots, was achieved by the two young officers at the end of the demanding training course attended at one of the Arma Azzurra training institutes. The prestigious milestone is added to the one achieved in March by four pilots of the National Body of Fire and anticipates the end of the course by a few days un further goer of the Port authorities.

"The ability of the staff of the Stormo and of the visitors to cope positively with the difficulties of the moment, to know how to reorganize while remaining focused on achieving professional and personal goals, without distorting their identity, is the best possible example to explain, with the facts, the meaning of the term resilience".

These are the Colonel's words Davide Cipelletti, Commander of the 72nd Wing who, greeting the young Officers, added "Be as proud of your goal as we are for you. Become fully aware of what you have done so far to fulfill your ambitions; this awareness will be the force with which you can face all future challenges, certain of your abilities".
