The Department of Public Security asks for respect for Pierluigi Rotta and Matteo Demenego

In relation to the hateful speculations generated yesterday by an SAP representative in an attempt to correlate the tragic death of Matteo and Pierluigi with the inadequacy of the equipment supplied, the Department of Public Security declares that, in the current state of the investigations, in the absence of witnesses and video documents, any arbitrary reconstruction of the dynamics that led to the removal of the first killed colleague's weapon is groundless. Therefore it is disconcerting, a few hours after the event, the assurance with which hasty conclusions are drawn about the unequivocal traceability of what happened to the alleged inadequacy of the holster.

On such a dramatic day one would have expected, at least from those who wear the same uniform, a respectful condolences for the victims and their families.

It upset that some, in order to gain visibility, speculate on the death of their fallen colleagues, profaning the pain of their loved ones and of the entire community.

If, afterwards, any kind of responsibility is verified, they will be asked for an account, without ifs or buts, also to honor the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the common good.
