US officials would have kicked off a series of informal meetings and briefings with government officials and telecom executives to convince allies of the risk. In the nations mentioned there are important US military structures that could be exposed to the risk of espionage and sabotage, via Huawei's network infrastructures.
The United States has already initiated a series of measures to reduce the presence of Huawei devices in the most important administrative structures and induce other institutions to terminate relations with the Chinese company, also considering the opportunity to increase financial aid for the development of the telecommunications sector to be allocated to those countries that will no longer use Huawei's network equipment.
