The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport becomes "Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility”: This is the new name approved today by the Council of Ministers on the proposal of Minister Enrico Giovannini with the decree-law on the reorganization of ministries.

“The name change corresponds to a development vision that aligns us with current European policies and the principles of the Next Generation Eu. The goal is to promote a strong economic recovery in the country that is also sustainable on a social and environmental level, as indicated by President Draghi, whom I thank for supporting the proposal to change the name of the Ministry.

Rapid and substantial investments, such as those we are planning, in particular with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, must produce a significant effect on the level of the competitiveness of the economic system and stimulate employment in the current economic situation and in the future.

The strengthening and modernization of infrastructural networks and the logistics sector, investment in social infrastructures and in the various areas of the transport system must accompany and accelerate the transformations taking place in the business and consumer world in the direction of sustainability ", states Minister Giovannini. “The Ministry - adds Giovannini - will open an intense dialogue with economic and social operators to identify the most suitable actions to accelerate this path, also taking into account the new opportunities deriving from the recent orientations of the financial world and European policies on the subject”.
