The orange gillets

(by John Blackeye) If in a few weeks the virus in France managed to do what the Government was unable to do, that is, to remove the troublemakers from the yellow gillets from the street who were still motivated by clear social needs, in Italy the viurs he managed to give birth to the movement of orange gillets that today presented themselves with an identity card that is still not well defined, taking to the streets in some Italian cities.

With hari krishna they have nothing to do given the determination with which they manifested and since nobody understood us in this Italy of a thousand surprises, if you wanted to try to deepen their origin or their destination just take a look to articles in national newspapers. If the largest Italian newspapers have already shot point-blank against this newborn movement, well ... then it is reasonable to think that somehow the orange gillets are against the "great system".

At the head of the movement, a retired former general of the weapon presented himself in the past who has already done politics and who is known for his energetic interventions that have always had something striking, if only for the fact of gathering visibility.

Today the orange gillets asked for a return to the Italian Lira, that is to say to our old national currency and at the same time it seems they praised the vaccines and against Europe.

To tell the truth, these days, riding the horse that opposes Europe is like shooting on the Red Cross if we consider that in front of the numerous press conferences of our political representatives, we made an indigestion of billions of euros to distribute to the right and it is missing but of which not a cent has yet been seen thanks to the many doubts and hesitations of that mammoth and perhaps useless system that is the European Union.

Many Italians have not even taken out layoffs yet, for example, the bicycle bonus that takes shape behind a state budget of one hundred and twenty million euros, has not found an effective application in stores. People are forced to buy bikes at full price, hoping then for a refund that, given the number of subscriptions to the initiative, may never arrive as it has surely exceeded the ceiling of appropriations. What a mess.

It is clear that this is the Italy of bureaucracy in which Italian politicians are too accustomed to speaking, conjugating verbs always and only to the future: we will do, we will say, we will intervene, we will give etc. Never anyone who presents himself in public with facts in hand, with concrete facts already made. Indeed, someone did it recently but then fell under the weight of their ambition.

It is therefore clear that this bad mood can generate phenomena such as that of orange gillets, an all-Italian novelty borrowed from the French phenomenon which hopefully will not want to take the example of violence.

However, in France, the yellow gillets moved on the push of restrictions and taxes imposed by the state that had led the common people to suffer almost from hunger. And history teaches that the people go to the streets for revolutions only when their bellies are empty.

In Italy there does not seem to be this risk. Many Italians are in critical economic conditions but some businesses that mourn misery are not credible given the profits they have made for years by imposing high prices on the shoulders of poor people.

However, a proverb says saying "never say never". We know nothing or almost nothing about orange gillets but the very fact of having already been attacked by the "system" defines their political position in a context in which the government should not sleep at all.

But the opium of the peoples is almost ready, the Government has found an agreement with the League and the football matches are about to fill the brains of the Italians with nothing again, shifting their reasoning on a ball chased by overpaid athletes. The pressure on the executive should drop.

We hope, however, that the Italians' bellies will continue to be filled, as well as emptying their brains with football, because otherwise the orange gillets would only be at the beginning of a phenomenon that could evolve into something else.
