Scip repatriates the drug trafficking man from Cosa Nostra to Germany

Giuseppe Emilio Bevilacqua is arrested in Germany following the "Ultra" operation of the carabinieri

Giuseppe Emilio Bevilacqua, will land in the early afternoon in Fiumicino escorted by the International Police Cooperation Service (SCIP) of the Central Directorate of the Criminal Police, directed by the Prefect Vittorio Rizzi.

Bevilacqua was the recipient of a European arrest warrant for the execution of an order for pre-trial detention in prison, issued by the investigating magistrate at the Caltanissetta court, and is accused of the crime of mafia-type association aimed at drug trafficking.

The investigations of the Carabinieri Special Operations Group led to the maxi-operation "Ultra" of 1 July last, which led to the arrest of 46 people and allowed to reconstruct the structures of the criminal organization linked to Cosa Nostra and, in particular, of the Sicilian mafia family of Barrafranca in the province of Enna, and of which Bevilacqua represented an operating glue for the interests of the Mafia family.

In fact, the continuous exchange of information between the ROS and the SIReNE Division of the Criminalpol International Police Cooperation Service, with the coordination of the Italian Security Expert in Germany, made it possible to trace Bevilacqua to Wolfsburg, from where he contributed the management and reorganization of the Mafia family, also contributing to the restructuring of drug trafficking, both for the supply and for the retail sale of drugs.

In Germany, the capture took place on the night between 30 June and 1 July last, at the same time as the arrests made in Italy and it was a real blitz, coordinated by Europol and that the SCIP has supported in every phase, implementing an operational link between the German police device and the BKA with that of the Carabinieri.

Upon arrival in Fiumicino, after the ritual notifications at the Air Border Police Offices, Bevilacqua will be taken over by prison staff and taken to prison, available to the Sicilian judicial authority.
