Those responsible are afraid to expose themselves, Conte caressed by the idea of elections

(by Massimiliano D'Elia) The elusive Conte list would amount to over 15%, according to a Euromedia Research survey carried out for Porta a Porta. And if the premier were to lead the M5S, the music becomes even sweeter, from 14,6% to 20,2% approval.

So what to do? The Apulian lawyer is much debated and according to the indiscretions of the press he would also be tickled by the idea of competing in early political elections. In the last few hours, his government has been thrown into even more panic by the investigation for criminal association that has pulled into the shirts of the judiciary Lorenzo Cesa, the very one who together with the UDC parliamentarians, could constitute the backbone of the fourth leg of the government.

Yesterday morning a rumble of messages via smartphone among the parliamentarians of the majority: "The numbers in the Senate are worrying". Conte tried to calm them down: "We have the majority and the time to strengthen ourselves ”.  But how long? There is talk of a maximum of 5 days even if many argue that the Head of State has granted Conte 10 days. A very long time that would favor the premier in the search for "responsible or constructors" parliamentarians, even if there is still no evidence on the quail jump by these ladies. Tempted to the lure of Conte there would be a small number of parliamentarians from IV and FI, even if they do not come forward yet because they do not see the certainty that the premier can have the numbers and the strength to continue with this executive. They are therefore afraid of exposing themselves, of coming out into the open and being forever repudiated by their parties of origin.

Faced with Renzi's feeble openings, Conte yesterday tried perhaps with the last move, a surprise night CDM where he handed over to his diplomatic adviser Peter Benassi delegation to the secret services.

Now Conte, however, must hurry and hope that Renzi will soften because next Wednesday the report by Bonafede on justice will be voted. In this regard, Renzi has already announced his vote against, a dangerous condition because if the government does not collect the majority on the Keeper's report, Mattarella can only take into consideration the only viable path, dissolve the Chambers and call new elections. .

The big names of the Democratic Party would also be thinking about new elections, a way to immediately weaken Giuseppe Conte who, on the other hand, with the reins of government power could continue to federate all the centrists of the political arena, also attracting the votes of the Italians.
