195 million awarded for additional services and 100 million for compensation of lost revenues

Regions and Autonomous Provinces will be able to dispose, as an advance, of 195 million euros for the financing of additional public transport services, local and regional, and 100 million as compensation for the reduction in tariff revenues for the year 2020.

This was established by the decree signed yesterday by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Paola de Micheli in concert with the Minister of Economy and Finance Roberto Gualtieri.

The 195 million advance by 50% the overall allocation of 390 million for local authorities for the financing of additional local and regional public transport services necessary to meet the transport needs of students resulting from the application of measures to contain the spread of Covid 19 and in the face of the resumption of teaching in the presence of 50%. To make this possible, an organizational model that was efficient thanks to the institutional collaboration and the MIT working tables on the regional supply chain of local public transport.

Also assigned 100 million to local public transport companies as compensation for the lower revenues suffered between February and December 2020.
