Palinuro school ship in Athens

The stop is part of the 53 ^ Education Campaign for students of the Normal Course Marescialli

Today 12 August 2017 School Ship Palinuro has landed in the port of Athens, Greece, where it will remain until August 15, coming from Malta.

The Unit is currently engaged in the 53rd Education Campaign in favor of the students of the Normal Course Marshals of the Non-commissioned Officers School of Taranto. During the particular navigation in the Greek waters, the students were able to apply the rudiments of nautical sciences learned during the academic year and also compared with the practice of the seafaring arts necessary to sail the Palinuro ship.

The students, as in previous stops, will bring Italian excellence and the prestige of our Armed Forces abroad through participation in cultural and promotional events, in collaboration with the national diplomatic representations of the host countries.

Today, at the 15: 00, Palinuro Ship Commander, Fregata Giuseppe Valentini, will be holding a press conference on board during which he will present the 53 2017 XNUMX Education Unit and XNUMX XNUMX.

 

 

Palinuro Ship will be open for all those who would like to visit it at the following times:

- 12 August, from 16:00 to 19:00;

- 13 and 14 August, from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00

 

At the non-commissioned school of Taranto, Marescialli students attend a university degree program integrated with sports, military training and fire and anti-firing training courses, and deepen marine knowledge as well as that relating to specialist education, civic education and Improvement of physical attitudes within a modern university campus born to the formation of the new Maresciallo figure. The students embarked on Nave Palinuro are in fact immersed in a unique working context where they carry out astronomical observations with the use of the sextant to determine the position of the unit, learn the fundamentals of the seafaring art by climbing in the trees and learn the art of going to sea by putting into practice what has been studied up to now in books.
