Emergency medical transport from Cagliari to Venice for a woman in danger of life

In the early afternoon of today, Monday 4 June, the Air Force carried out the emergency medical transport of a 54-year-old patient in imminent danger of life.

The 50 Falcon of the 31 ° Stormo of Ciampino took off following the request received at the Sala Situazioni di Vertex of the Command of the Air Squad by the Prefecture of Cagliari. The Situation Hall of Vertice, in coordination with the Prefectures throughout the national territory, arranges and manages this and other types of missions in favor of the community.

The aircraft, which arrived in Cagliari to embark the woman, took off from the Sardinian capital in the early afternoon and then landed in Venice after about an hour of flight. Here the patient was immediately transported to the hospital in Padua to receive the necessary treatment.

For this type of missions, which require very quick reaction times, the Air Force maintains assets and crews in a state of operational readiness, available to citizens every single day of the year, 24 hours on 24, able to operate in meteorological conditions complex, ensuring the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life and medical teams, as in today's case, but also of organs and ambulances.

Since the beginning of the year, the Air Force flight departments have carried out more than 150 hours of flight, for over 55 rescue missions in favor of life-threatening patients.
