Trieste: launch of the first edition of the highly specialized course for State Police investigators

This morning, at the School of Allievi Agenti of the State Police of Trieste, in the presence of the Central Anti-Crime Director, Prefect Francesco Messina, the first edition of the highly specialized course for operator of investigative techniques and methodologies of patrimonial investigation in the criminal field was inaugurated. and prevention.

The training course - lasting three weeks - is intended for policemen from all over Italy, who already serve in investigative structures such as the Mobile Squads, the Anti-Crime Divisions, the Digos, the Postal Police, the investigative teams of the Commissariats and the road and railway police.

The aim of the course is to increase and refine the investigative knowledge of the operators, who today are called to prevent and fight criminal phenomena that are increasingly complex, dynamic and in step with the times.

According to the Prefect Messina, "thanks to the constant commitment of the Central Anti-Crime Directorate, a highly specialized course was created that brings together the investigative experience gained over time, expanding and updating it, in order to train a modern and multitasking investigator, who work as a team and master all the legal and technological tools that the legal system makes available, with particular regard to the sector of aggression against illicit assets accumulated by criminal organizations ".

Precisely the patrimonial investigations functional to the prevention measures proposed by the Quaestors represent one of the topics to which more space will be dedicated in these three weeks of training, like other innovative subjects that today an investigator must know how to master, such as the use of associated artificial intelligence the new databases used by the State Police, the massive analysis of telephone records and new encrypted messaging systems, the errors to be avoided at the crime scene, the use of DNA, the search for dangerous fugitives, the prevention of criminal infiltration in the granting of economic benefits launched for the pandemic emergency, and more.

A heterogeneous training offer, thanks to which the new investigators will no longer be sectorialized but will become more performing, able to better carry out wide-ranging investigations, thus responding to the expectations of the Judicial Authority, the protection needs of victims of crimes and - ultimately - to the demands of justice and legality coming from the whole community.
