The Turin State Police, as part of an articulated investigation carried out by the Digos of the Turin Police Headquarters and coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor's Office, carried out 13 precautionary measures, of which 1 under house arrest, 3 residence bans in Turin and in Municipalities of the Val Susa and 9 obligations of presentation to the PG) towards the leaders and militants of Askatasuna responsible for the crimes of resistance to public officials and aggravated private violence, committed on the occasion of the march on 1 May 2019.

In particular, the precautionary measure of house arrest was ordered against one of the 37-year-old historical leaders, who was also recognized as coordinating and directing the violent phases of the demonstration. Three of them are recipients of the ban on residence in the Municipalities of Turin and Val Susa, while the precautionary measure of the obligation of presentation to the PG has been ordered against another 8 ”. The same precautionary measure was also ordered against the historic spokesperson of Askatasuna, a 40-year-old woman, currently held in prison in execution of a final sentence, who, in the role of "speaker", assumed the role of "official voice of the parade ”, Encouraging and inciting other individuals. The facts date back to the workers' demonstration of 01 May 2019, when several Askatasuna militants, positioned themselves at the head of the social segment composed of about 2000 people, also linked to the No-Tav movement, the anarchist area and the various groups of citizen dissent, they were responsible for repeated violent actions that required different and calibrated interventions by the contingents of the police and Digos staff in order to prevent the implementation of a precise strategy aimed at overcoming the other political-institutional components intent on parading through the city center to reach the head of the procession with the precise aim of giving, among other things, a purely “NoTav” connotation to the traditional workers' demonstration.

Shortly before the institutional procession started, various subjects have repeatedly tried to break through the lines of the police, then succeeded in passing, at the beginning of the demonstration, the van of the Liberi e Uguali party, subsequently attempting to bypass the segment of the Party Democrat, attacking, on several occasions, both some politicians and members of the party's order service, one of whom was violently hit with kicks and punches by some Askatasuna militants. Subsequently, the demonstrators tried to break through another cordon of the police forces, forced to intervene with lightening actions also because they were the object of the throwing of bottles, flagpoles and other blunt objects, during which a Digos operator. The complex investigations of DIGOS made it possible to identify and report 30 other militants in the area for similar crimes in a state of freedom.
