The Carabinieri of the Valmontone station, as part of a targeted prevention service, actively collaborated by the security staff of the Outlet shopping centre, arrested three women, a 46-year-old, a 39-year-old and a 50-year-old, two of whom are residents in the province of Frosinone and a resident of Bologna, seriously suspected of the crime of aggravated continuous theft.
Yesterday afternoon, the suspects carried out strange movements inside the shops of the shopping center and aroused the suspicion of the qualified security personnel who first alerted the Carabinieri of the Valmontone station and then discreetly followed the movements of the women, who were leaving a well-known commercial activity found themselves faced with the military who subjected them to checks and ascertained that inside their bags they had several unpaid items of clothing without identification tags.
From a more in-depth check, the Carabinieri managed to reconstruct the sequence of facts committed and to reveal the technique used by the three women, which consisted of purchasing an item of little value within each business, so as not to arouse suspicion, instead stealing several very expensive items of clothing. In fact, the subsequent search inside the car used by the suspects to reach the shopping center made it possible to find further items of clothing and footwear removed shortly before from other shops.
The entire stolen goods were recovered by the Carabinieri and returned to the owners of the various commercial activities who then filed a complaint. For this reason, the three friends were arrested and at the end of the formalities they were placed under house arrest at their respective homes.
This morning the suspects appeared before the G.I.P. of the Court of Velletri, which validated the arrests and applied the precautionary measure of the obligation to sign in the barracks towards all three.
