Vår Energi has been awarded 17 new exploration licenses in Norway, 7 of which as operator

Eni announces that Vår Energi, a company jointly controlled by Eni (69,6%) and HitecVision (30,4%), was awarded 17 exploration licenses in the "Awards in Predefined Areas 2019" (APA) in Norway

Eni through Vår Energi, jointly controlled by Eni with 69,6% and HitecVision with 30,4%, will participate in a total of 17 new exploration licenses, as a result of the tender process called "Awards in Predefined Areas 2019" (APA) managed by the Norwegian Ministry of Oil and Energy (MPE).

Vår Energi was awarded 7 licenses as Operator (PO) and 10 licenses as partner. Licenses are distributed across all three major oil provinces of the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS):

  • North Sea: PL 1043 (OP), PL 1042, PL 1035, PL 987 B, PL 984 BS, PL 917 B, PL 055 E
  • Norwegian Sea: PL 1070, PL 1065 (OP), PL 947 B
  • Barents Sea: PL 1080, PL 1079 (OP), PL 1078, PL 1075 (OP), PL 1074 (OP), PL 1073 (OP), PL 1072 (OP)

Following the recent completion of the acquisition of ExxonMobil's upstream assets in Norway, the 2019 APA results strengthen Vår Energi's position as a leading E&P company in Norway.

The new exploration licenses are located both in areas around the already operated production centers and in other areas, thus confirming the strategy of Vår Energi and the commitment to explore the Norwegian continental shelf, which is a fundamental part of the company's future organic growth .
