Viability Italia continues to monitor the latest traffic flows of the counter-exodus towards the main cities of Italy, in order to ensure timely management of any serious traffic critical situations. Today - from 07.00 to 22.00 - there is a traffic ban for commercial vehicles with a capacity exceeding 7,5 T.

A2 HIGHWAY CLOSURE BETWEEN PONTECAGNANO AND EBOLI: ALTERNATIVE ITINERARIES

The temporary suspension of vehicular traffic - which will last until the end of operations - on the A2 motorway, in both directions, on the Pontecagnano section remains for the operations of dismantling a World War II bomb in the Villani area of ​​the Municipality of Battipaglia. (SA) - Eboli (SA).

However, in order to allow the disposal of 8 km. of tail formed before the station of Eboli, the mandatory exit for vehicles going north to the Contursi Terme station (SA) was anticipated, at km. 46 of the A2; from there the traffic must continue along the SS 691 “Fondo valle del Sele” and the SS7 towards Avellino.

The following are the alternative routes:

  • All A2 traffic heading south will be exited at the junction of Pontecagnano nord (SA), to continue along the Salerno ring road towards "Salerno - Zona Industriale" to the "Zona Industriale" exit; then through Via Roberto Wenner, Via Diomide Cioffi and Viale De Luca Andrea, all in the Municipality of Salerno, you will reach the SP 417 "Aversana", to be covered up to the SP 30; this artery must be traveled in the direction of Eboli to return to A2 from the Eboli junction.
  • All the traffic of the A2 going north at the Eboli junction (SA) will continue along the SP 30 up to the intersection with the SP 417 "Aversana"; take the SP 417 and proceed in the direction of Salerno and, via the so-called “Lombard ramp”, go up the Salerno ring road and continue towards Pontecagnano to return to A2 at the Pontecagnano Nord junction.

SUSPENSION OF RAILWAY TRAFFIC

Railway traffic will be suspended, from 10.45 to 21.00 between Pontecagnano and Eboli, on the Battipaglia-Potenza line. To limit the inconvenience the line will be usable in two intervals from 16.00 to 16.40 and from 18.30 to 19.30.

During the suspension of rail traffic, trains coming from the North will be limited to the Salerno FS station while those coming from the South to the Agropoli and Eboli railway stations.

The presence of personnel for assistance to people traveling to the following stations is envisaged: Salerno, Sapri and Potenza.

  • A23: Austria direction, 1 km exit queue at the Ugovizza barrier due to heavy traffic;
  • A14: northbound, traffic junctions between Forlì and Bologna San Lazzaro for heavy traffic;
  • A1: sometimes queues between Calenzano and Barberino di Mugello due to heavy traffic.

A low-pressure area, originating from northern Europe, caused a significant worsening of the weather in the northern regions of our country, with heavy rains and storms. The Department of Civil Protection, in agreement with the regions involved, issued a notice of adverse weather conditions yesterday, which foresaw precipitation with a predominantly inverted or temporal character over Liguria and Piedmont, extending from the night to Tuscany, Emilia -Romagna and Lombardy, and from today's day on Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. These phenomena will be accompanied by heavy rain showers, frequent electric activity, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.

For a peaceful journey: check the efficiency of the vehicle as well as the driving documents and traffic information of the chosen itinerary. Avoid any distraction while driving; always maintain a suitable safety distance from the vehicle in front; moderate speed; fasten seat belts even in the back seats and secure children with seats and adapters. It is forbidden to use mobile phones while driving without speakerphone or earphones. Make frequent stops, at least every two hours of uninterrupted driving. Alcohol and drugs are incompatible with driving.
